Andrew Barone

Director of Bands

Andrew Barone serves as the Director of Bands at California High School in Whittier, California, where he leads the California High School Entertainment Unit. Under his direction, students participate in marching band, concert ensembles, football games, parades, community performances, and competitive field show events throughout Southern California.

Mr. Barone brings extensive experience in the marching arts and music education world. Prior to his work at California High School, he served as Drum Major for Pacific Crest from 2018–2022, where he developed strong leadership and performance experience within one of Southern California’s nationally recognized drum corps organizations.

His additional experience includes involvement with respected performing arts programs such as The Cavaliers Arts, Performance & Education, Chromium Winds, King Cobras Drumline, and GearWORKS, where he contributed to performance, instruction, and student development within competitive marching arts programs.

Mr. Barone earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton, and continues to bring passion, energy, and dedication to the California High School Entertainment Unit. Under his leadership, the program has participated in competitive events including the California State Band Championships (CSBC) and Southern California Division Championships, performing productions such as “The Red String of Fate."

Mr. Barone is committed to creating a positive and challenging environment where students can grow in leadership, musicianship, discipline, teamwork, and school pride both on and off the field.
